September 14, 2015 / Sara Girletz
Currently I am spending the month of September in Sointula, BC doing an artist residency. It is both exciting and overwhelming to be able to paint full time for a whole month. So far my studio time has been dedicated to creating assemblage style pieces for homebody; a soon to be online shop set to make its debut on the Calgary market scene this November 2015. I am also planning a few side projects that will pertain to me absorbing my new surroundings. I find travelling while conducting an active studio practice go so well hand in hand. Like most artists probably find, I can’t help but be influenced by colours, textures and the overall new surroundings when placed in a different setting. Feel free to follow my trip on Instagram and Facebook.
